Jiaoxi Hot Spring Park 礁溪溫泉公園 as the name suggest is another wonderful hotspring created by mother nature within Jiaoxi Township, Yilan county, Taiwan. Jiaoxi hot spring is a pretty historical attraction even during the Qing dynasty and is one of the eight scenic attractions of lanyang. Jiaoxi hot spring is vastly unique as it is situated on flatland when most hot springs are usually found on hilly areas and while most hot springs are sulphur based, the ones here are odourless and colorless yet pack a punch of minerals in them.
There are a few areas to get in “touch” with the mineral rich hotspring water with the first area being the several shallow pools near the tourism information centre for feet soaking, the next one is of course the outdoor swimming pool complex adorned with natural stones while the Senlin Fenglu bathhouse offers slightly more privacy with separate pools for men, women and kids.
The entire Jiaoxi Hot spring park is designed with architectures and landscaped to mimic that of Japanese bathhouses, peaceful and very Zen feel.
While at this area, do not give this place a miss, pamper your body and do as Romans do, sample some hot spring cooked food.
