Step into the world of modern and contemporary art at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum (TFAM). Founded in 1983, TFAM is the official art museum of the capital city. It is dedicated not only to the preservation, development and popularization of modern and contemporary art, it also seeks to educate and inspire its visitors with exhibitions of works by local and international artists.
Over the years since its establishment, TFAM has acquired over 4000 art pieces, most of which have been put up for permanent exhibition. Visitors also get to appreciate various special themed exhibitions which are available only for certain periods of time.
Hoping to spread the knowledge of modern and contemporary art to the general public, TFAM organizes fun yet educational events for people of all ages and backgrounds. In addition, the museum publishes books and even owns an Art Library that carries vast collections of Chinese and foreign language art books. Anyone who wishes to read up or do academic researches may do so but materials in the library cannot be borrowed or taken out of the premises.
