Huashan 1914 Creative Park 華山1914文化創意產業園區 was formerly known as Taihoku Winery established in 1914 producing sake and ginseng wines. After exchanging many hands, the winery became known as fruit wine factory in the mid 1960s specializing in fruit wines.
Since the winery relocation in 1987, the factory was left abandoned until Golden Bough Theater Group trespassed, rediscovered and staged plays in this well preserved factory in the 1997. The natural lights let in by high ceilings in huge open spaces were a draw for local artists who clamoured for the use and preservation of this historical site.
2007 is the year that Huashan 1914 creative park was born – new soul in an old body by the Association of Culture Environment Reform Taiwan, a non profit organisation.
Since its establishment, Huashan 1914 creative park serves as the main arena for the most significant cultural activities.
