Rainbow Village 彩虹眷村 is also used to be known as a Military Dependents’ villages. It was set up as temporary housing for members of the armed forces and their families in 1940. As the years goes by the houses become abandoned and the government has plans to demolish the village.

Mr. Huang also known as the “Rainbow Grandfather” who was still living here was against the demolishing plan and decide to come out with a unique way of protesting the government. Having some art talent, he started to paint the building out of his own imagination and that’s how Rainbow village was born.
