Established in 1984 on Hengchun Peninsula of Pingtung County, the oldest Kenting National Park 墾丁國家公園 in Taiwan became part of the highly raved tourist destination attracting in excess of 5 million people annually to enjoy the tropical climate, partake in the many water sports on offer or just simply to lay on its beach and bask in the sunlight while admiring the picturesque scenery of vast mountains amidst the lush greenery.
Nature lovers would be pleasantly delighted to hear that Kenting national park is home to a diversed population of over 300 species of birds, reptiles, amphibian, fishes and insects of all types.
A worthy mention at Kenting National Park would be the Eluanbi Park 鵝鑾鼻公園 located at cape Eluanbi where it is home to a gorgeous white lighthouse that is oh so instagrammable against the baby blue skies and white fluffy clouds. With the vast field of greenery and and tranquility, it serves as a perfect location for family bonding through recreational activities like kite flying, picnic or just relax under the sun.
It is advisable to visit during March where there will be extreme crowds as music lovers congregate for the Spring Scream rock band festival and soak up the atmosphere while having great fun.
