Chengcing Lake 澄清湖 is the largest man made lake in Niaosong town, Southern Kao Hsiung, Taiwan occupying over 300 hectares of land with the lake itself taking up slightly over a hundred hectares.
There are several different attractions within Chengcing lake itself such as the 230m long nine cornered bridge, the restored 43m tall Jhongsing Pagoda from which visitors can overlook the entire lake, the Fu guo island in commemoration of General Huang who bravely lead troops bravely during the war, three pavilions and the most noteworthy one being the underground military headquarters converted into the publicly accessible Cheng Ching Lake Exotic Marine Life Museum which seems like another amazing space regeneration project.
Chengcing lake is a tranquil getaway from the city area with a picturesque view that is perfect for recreational activities with families and friends such as running, fishing, cycling, picnic or even organize a barbecue. For the adrenaline junkies, visit the nearby Youth centre for some paint ball shooting, rock climbing, swimming etc.
There is something for everyone at Chengcing lake.
