Take a breather from urban Taiwan and delve into the hearth of nature at Taroko National Park. The park is defined by its luscious greenery, magnificent scenic spots and various thriving lifeforms, making it one of the top tourist destination spots in the country. With most of the park undisturbed by civilization, it has become a sanctuary for various lifeforms – both animals and plants.
One of the park’s most popular features is Taroko Gorge which is a marble-walled deep valley that is a sight to behold. It is one of nature’s fascinating creations that started million years ago, through erosion and collision of lands and seas, the valley with marble walls was formed. Taroko was established in 1986 to conserve the natural resources, protect its natural scenery and wildlife, and to facilitate research and promote environment education.
