Mukumugi Valley is a hidden little gem in Tongmen Village (銅門村) about 20 kilometres from Hualien City. It is an undisturbed nature zone that features a blue lagoon formed by the Qingshui River flowing through the valley.

The area is free of its grasp from civilisation, taken care by an aboriginal tribe living around the valley. Visitors are limited to 600 a day and no vehicles are allowed to enter so whoever wishes to enjoy the tranquillity of the lagoon and its surroundings will have to take a 40-minute hike to the valley. In addition, an Entry Mountain permit is required to visit Mukumugi.

All the fuss to visit the valley will be well-worth it once there. Enjoy a calming dip in the clear blue waters and rest on the huge beautiful stones while appreciating the wonders of Mother Nature.
